KONICHIWA BITCHES!

July 20, 2007

So, it’s Friday 20th July 2007 and I’m sitting on Japan Airlines Flight from London, England to Osaka, Japan and I’m thinking. I hope the bloody food on this flight is going to be as tasty as some good ole fish n chips. I’m feeling tired as I envision the 13 hour flight ahead of me (hate those long-haul flights…but until someone invents a human transporter, this’ll have to do for now). I hope there’s some banging tunes to check out on this flight. Sit back, relax and fasten your seat belt as my JAL 777 flight takes of into the sunset.  I insert my headphones into the in-flight audio system and scroll through the various channels. Traditional Japanese music…not quite my cup of tea! Next up, Japanese classic tunes…again, not my cup of tea or biscuits. Ok let’s give it a third try….J – Pop (cheesy but I can handle it for a minute). Wait a sec me ole china…what about the ole iPod? I stand-up during the “fasten your seat” belt sign was alight (I feel pretty courageous doing it)…of course, knowing my luck I get caught and get a stern warning from the stewardess in a very polite Japanese kind of way (if that makes sense). I then proceed to quick stick my my arse (ass) back in my seat. Finally, when it’s ok to stand-up, I get up and take my bag from the luggage holder…grab iPod…turn on power and crank it up with Sweden’s Robyn and her track “Konichiwa Bitches.” Now you’re talkin’!  feel the rumble in my jungle and fall asleep dreaming about programming next week’s Passport Approved radio show. NOT!!!!. Till next time, it’s over and out my konichiwa bitches…this bitch is tired.
